From Trash To Treasure: Fixing a broken down cabinet
I had a cabinet I love which was all but destroyed in our move. I got a little creative and repaired it!
Go With Your Gut
Found an old table at an auction. Cut it in half and made it into two tables. This is the first half!
Mirror Re-do
Found an old mirror at an auction. I used chalk paint and waxes to make her beautiful! Click on one of the mirrors to check it out!
Annie Sloan Vs. Homemade Chalk Paint
I love the look that comes with using chalk paint on furniture. I have used professional grade and homemade. Check out my post to find out my thoughts on the subject. Just click on one of the pictures to get you there.
Time Will Tell
Years ago I was given this clock....and though it doesn't really match my space...I loved the chimes it made and am not one to really get rid of gifts I am given. I decided with all this painting I have done lately...to try my hand at making this clock fit into my space better! I know a lot of people have these clocks in oak ... don't be afraid to paint it! You can see the transformation HERE
Peacock Inspired Dresser
I had this idea a while back. I wanted to fix up an old tattered dresser in our home and use items that inspire me. Music and peacocks are something that just make me giddy. They inspired this dresser. You can learn how to upcycle an old piece of furniture with music sheets Here
Burlap Shade
I have seen so many examples of burlap shades, I HAD to make one. I love it...it brings such a soft light to our bedroom. You can get an idea of how to make these HERE
Little Chair Blue
I bought this little chair for a song at an auction. Making it look even older and a little shabby was easy. Find out how HERE
Simple Sign How To
I got this idea from my friend Lisa who had something similar on her Pinterest! I loved it and need to find a place to put it but couldn't wait to get a picture of it up!
I used an old canvas we had laying around here...I pick them up a garage sales all the time, and was really pleased to have a use for it! We have a wonderful local store called the Mangy Moose. They carry just about everything...including crafting and scrapbook supplies. I was looking for wooded letters, but they only had really thick cardboard so I thought Id give it a try. You can find out how to HERE

She Sells Sea Shells Shelf
I wanted a place in my bathroom to feature my collection of seashells which was out of the way and would have the feel of cottages on the Carolina Coast I used spend time at as a kid. Again, using an old item I already have is my favorite way to go. I love taking long bubble baths in candle light in a room that reminds me of my southern homeland. It is beautiful and relaxing! A space every mom needs, right?

Distressed Storage Cabinet X 2
I have redone this piece a couple of times. It us fun to change things to fit your space or mood!
You can add a little charm to any old piece of furniture. This was another gift I would have most likely thrown out...very reminiscent of the 70's in it's original state. I broke every rule one is supposed to follow when distressing furniture. I did not sand it completely down, nor strip it, nor re-stain it. I was in a hurry and just wanted it finished before we had company over one weekend. Sometimes the best results are when we are under a deadline. My first redo for this piece you can find Here!

Reusing An Old Item
I love finding salvage items, things others have thrown out or cast off and creating something wonderful and useful! They call it up-cycling now, and the idea is to recreate items. I needed a focal point for the large living room wall we have. I wanted it to take up space as well as be functional. With a large family, finding a place for pictures can be a challenge. A few years back I helped clean out an old house in town, and came across three old pink doors they were planning to hall to the dump. I envisioned finding uses for them.
